The LG C3 OLED (₹1,29,990 for 55-inch) is the best Dolby Vision TV in India — OLED's pixel-level dimming makes Dolby Vision tone mapping more accurate than any LCD alternative, with perfect blacks, infinite contrast, and Dolby Vision IQ that automatically adjusts HDR intensity to room lighting conditions.

LG C3 OLED — ₹1,29,990

Best Dolby Vision TV. OLED's self-emitting pixels produce absolute black when showing dark Dolby Vision content — no blooming or haloing around bright highlights in dark scenes. Dolby Vision IQ uses a built-in light sensor to read ambient room brightness and apply a calibrated colour/brightness profile matching that environment. α9 Gen6 AI processor calibrates all four corners of the panel simultaneously for uniform HDR accuracy.

LG's OLED is the reference display for Dolby Vision content calibration in India — Netflix, Apple TV+, and Disney+ Hotstar produce Dolby Vision colour graded content mastered on OLED displays.

Sony Bravia X90L — ₹89,990

Best Dolby Vision LCD TV. Sony's Full Array Local Dimming with Mini-LED backlighting (500 dimming zones on the 55-inch model) delivers HDR contrast that approaches OLED performance at ₹40,000 less. Bravia XR processor applies Dolby Vision processing with cognitive intelligence that maps content to human visual perception rather than just following signal specs. IMAX Enhanced certified.

For Indian buyers who want Dolby Vision quality without the OLED price, the X90L delivers 95% of the visual experience at 70% of the price.

What Dolby Vision Actually Improves

Dynamic metadata. Unlike HDR10 (static metadata applied once per film), Dolby Vision adjusts tone mapping frame-by-frame. A film with a dark interior scene followed immediately by an exterior noon scene gets individual HDR calibration for each frame — resulting in both scenes looking correctly exposed rather than one being crushed to fit the other.

Brighter highlights. Dolby Vision supports up to 10,000 nits peak brightness (vs. HDR10's 1,000 nits). Even TVs that can't physically reach 10,000 nits benefit — the metadata instructs the TV's processor to use all available brightness headroom intelligently.
