Last verified: July 2026Prices checked on Amazon India

The best soundbar for an LG TV is usually an LG Atmos soundbar at roughly ₹25,000-60,000 for the tightest pairing, or a Sony, Samsung or JBL bar if you want better value, as long as it connects over HDMI eARC.

The best soundbar for an LG TV is usually one of LG's own Dolby Atmos soundbars at roughly ₹25,000 to ₹60,000, because they pair over a single HDMI cable and share features with the TV, but a Sony, Samsung or JBL bar can match them for sound at a similar price if it supports HDMI eARC.

This is a researched guide built from LG, Sony, Samsung and JBL product descriptions, not a bench test. The thing to verify before buying is which HDMI port on your exact LG TV is the eARC port, and whether any LG-to-LG pairing feature you want, such as sound sharing with the TV speakers, is supported on both your TV model and the soundbar.

Prices below are approximate and can change during sales, so check the live price on Amazon before you buy.

Quick Pick: If your LG is a C-series or G-series OLED, pair it with an LG Dolby Atmos soundbar in the roughly ₹30,000-60,000 range for simple setup. Browse LG soundbars on Amazon.

Connection first: HDMI eARC

The most important thing for any soundbar and LG TV is the connection. Look for the HDMI port labelled eARC/ARC on the back of the TV. On most recent LG sets, only one HDMI port has this label. Plug the soundbar's HDMI OUT (eARC) port into it using a good-quality HDMI cable. eARC can carry Dolby Atmos from the TV's own apps, as well as lossless audio from devices plugged into the TV.

If you use an optical cable instead, you lose Atmos and the bar falls back to compressed surround. That is acceptable for news and soaps but not what you pay Atmos prices for. Also turn on the TV's audio output setting to HDMI ARC or eARC, otherwise the TV may keep playing sound from its own speakers.

LG soundbars and the "pairing" idea

LG markets a feature, usually described as WOW Orchestra on supported combinations, that lets the TV speakers work together with a compatible LG soundbar for a wider soundstage. It is not available on every TV and bar, so read the compatibility list carefully on LG's page for your model rather than assuming. Even without that feature, LG soundbars typically offer wireless links, automatic input switching and remote control integration, so the TV remote adjusts volume.

LG's range spans compact 2.1 bars at around ₹15,000-25,000, mid-range 3.1.2 and 5.1.2 Atmos models at roughly ₹30,000-55,000, and flagship systems with wireless rear speakers above ₹60,000. Search LG Atmos soundbars with rear speakers.

Sony, Samsung and JBL as alternatives

An LG TV will work with any brand through eARC, so do not limit yourself.

  • Sony's HT-A series is a strong choice for clear dialogue and good Atmos effect on virtual-surround models. Many Sony bars also add wireless rear speakers later. Browse Sony soundbars. Expect roughly ₹25,000-90,000.
  • Samsung's Q-series soundbars offer useful features such as Q-Symphony, but that part only works with Samsung TVs. On an LG, you still get the bar's own surround and bass. Browse Samsung Q-series.
  • JBL's Bar range puts weight on bass, with wireless subwoofers on most models and a 5.1 option that includes detachable rear speakers on some. Browse JBL Bar. Expect roughly ₹20,000-60,000.

Size matching

A soundbar should roughly match the TV width. For a 55 inch LG, a bar of around 90 to 100 cm looks right. For 65 inch and above, bigger bars between 110 and 130 cm look more balanced. If your TV sits on a stand with a tall central leg, measure the clearance before buying, because some LG stands raise the screen and the bar's front face may block the infrared receiver or bottom of the screen.

If you wall-mount the TV, many soundbars include mounting brackets, and the LG remote's IR signal usually still reaches the bar, but confirm a sensor placement note in the manual.

Atmos reality check

Dolby Atmos in a compact soundbar uses up-firing speakers that bounce sound off the ceiling. That works best in rooms with flat ceilings around 2.4 to 3 metres. In rooms with very high, sloped or heavily textured ceilings, the effect fades and you hear a wide stereo or surround image instead. In a small room, a simple 2.1 bar with a strong subwoofer may feel better than a pricey Atmos model.

Who should skip a soundbar

If you want real surround from the sides and back, a full AV receiver with separate speakers beats any single bar, though it costs more and demands more space and cables. If you live in a flat with sleeping neighbours, a large wireless subwoofer may cause complaints; choose a bar with a night mode. See compact 2.1 soundbars.

Recommendation

For a simple, clean setup on a mid-to-high LG OLED, buy an LG Atmos bar around ₹35,000-55,000 and connect it through HDMI eARC. For more bass at a lower price, look at JBL; for more refined dialogue and expandability, look at Sony. Before ordering any bar, find your TV's eARC port, measure the clearance under the screen, and confirm Atmos support if your Netflix and Prime plans deliver it.
